Brian and Ellen,
Your long-term care insurance quotes are ready.
First, please watch this short video I made for you:
๐ Your quotes
I've provided quotes with the same initial benefit to make an apples-to-apples comparison.
You can also adjust the benefit amount to fit your budget. For example, increasing the initial benefit from $6,000 to $7,500 per month is a 25% increase, so the premium would also increase by approximately 25%.
Below is an example of alternative payment schedules for option C (Nationwide Together, 6 years shared).

๐ง My notes
These choices use the same starting monthly benefit but take different approaches to coverage.
Option A: This traditional policy provides three years of individual coverage for each of you. The benefits cannot be shared.
Option B: NGL is similar to option A, but benefits can be shared and comes with a lower premium.
Option C: This hybrid policy pays benefits in cash and lets either of you use a six-year shared benefit pool. It also provides a death benefit to heirs if care is not needed.
Option D: This option is similar to option C but offers eight years of shared benefits.
These policies provide lower annual benefits than the projected cost of care, but you can bridge the gap using personal savings and Social Security. For most people, the goal is to secure meaningful coverage rather than insure every dollar of potential care costs.
๐๐ป Next steps
Reply to my email or text with feedback or schedule time on my calendar to review these options together.
Alternatively, complete this longer health pre-screen form (10 minutes) for more clarity on your options. Iโll share your answers with insurers without your name attached to get informal feedback. This helps identify which policy is the best fit and avoids the risk of a formal decline.
Thanks,
Jesse
