First, please watch this short video I made for you:

🔎 Your quotes

These four quotes compare different benefit designs, including two Nationwide options with the same premium.

Should you shop around? You can—but your quotes will be the same everywhere. Long-term care insurance prices are set by the insurance companies, not by brokers. We offer all the top policies and help you find the best fit.

🧐 My notes

Three options start at $6,000/month, while Option C trades a lower starting benefit for faster growth at the same premium as B.

Option A: NGL HonestLTC has the lowest premiums in this comparison and reimburses eligible care expenses for four years. It has no benefit for heirs under this design. Premiums are payable for your lifetime and can increase after the first five years.

Option B: Nationwide CareMatters II keeps the same starting monthly benefit and four-year duration as A, while paying benefits in cash and providing a benefit for heirs if care is not needed. It costs more than A, with premiums payable to age 100.

Below are alternative annual payment schedules for option B. “5-pay” means five annual payments. Monthly payments are typically slightly more than one-twelfth of the annual amount. All policies offer alternative payment schedules.

Option C: This is the same as Option B, but the benefits grow at 5% instead of 3%. Because the premium is the same, the tradeoff is a lower starting benefit. The faster 5% growth catches up around age 76, so this option provides more benefit if most of your care occurs after that point. Personally, I’d choose this over Option B.

Option D: Securian SecureCare IV provides eight years of benefits. It has the largest total benefit pool and the highest monthly cost here, and premium payments end after 20 years. This policy also comes with strong international benefits.

Compare these benefits with projected care costs and the personal savings or other income you would want to use toward care.

You can also adjust the benefit amount to fit your budget. For example, reducing the premium by 25% would generally reduce the benefits proportionally.

👉🏻 Next steps

Reply to my email or text with feedback or schedule time on my calendar to review these options together.

Alternatively, complete this longer health pre-screen form (10 minutes) for more clarity on your options. I’ll share your answers with insurers without your name attached to get informal feedback. This helps identify which policy is the best fit and avoids the risk of a formal decline.

Thanks,
Jesse
