🔁 Revised quotes
As discussed, below are two traditional policies and one hybrid option. Each includes $4,500/month per person in initial benefits with 3% annual growth, so you can compare them apples-to-apples.
🧐 My notes
Each option structures shared benefits differently:
- Option A (4 years max): Each of you has 2 years of benefits that can be shared, but at least 1 year always remains for each person.
- Option B (6 years max): Each of you has 2 years of benefits, plus access to an additional shared pool of 2 years once individual benefits are used.
- Option C (4 years max): You share a single combined pool of 4 years.
My take: Option B offers lower premiums and higher total available benefits, so this looks like the better choice. Option C only becomes more compelling if a refund feature is a priority, which it isn’t for you.
If you'd like to adjust your annual benefits, you can adjust your premium—your benefits will change proportionally (e.g., by 25%).
👉🏻 Next steps
If you have questions, you can schedule time on my calendar so we can review options together.
I also recommend both of you completing this longer health pre-screen form (15 minutes). I’ll share your answers anonymously with insurers to get informal feedback before any formal application. This helps us identify which policy is the best fit and avoids the risk of a formal decline.
Thanks,
Jesse
