Jonathan and Deborah,
Your long-term care insurance quotes are ready.
New, Sept 20th: First, please watch this short video I made for you:
🔎 Your quotes
Options A through C start at $6,000 per month for Jonathan and Deborah. Options D and E start at $12,000 per month for Jonathan only. Option F starts at $10,000 per month for Jonathan only, and Option G provides six years starting at $9,000 per month for Jonathan only.
🧐 My notes
These choices differ in who is insured, starting monthly benefit, benefit structure, and payment guarantee, so compare coverage structure as well as cost.
Option A: This traditional joint policy covers Jonathan and Deborah with three years of separate reimbursement benefits for each person. It has the lowest cost among the three couple options, and premiums can increase after the first five years.
Option B: Compared with Option A, this hybrid policy combines six years of shared benefits that either policy holder can use and pays benefits in cash. It also includes a benefit for heirs if care is not needed.
Option C: This hybrid policy provides lifetime benefits through its Continuation of Benefits rider and costs less per month than Option B. Its premium is guaranteed not to increase, and it includes a benefit for heirs.
Sept 20 update:
Option D: This traditional individual policy covers Jonathan only and starts at twice the monthly benefit of Options A through C. It carries the highest AM Best rating in the table. Thrivent Financial is a not-for-profit fraternal Christian benefit society. To become a member of Thrivent and purchase insurance, you need to select one of the following qualification types:
- I am a Christian, seeking to live out my faith; or
- I am the spouse of a Christian who seeks to live out his or her faith.
Option E: This hybrid individual policy covers Jonathan only with lifetime benefits and the same $12,000 starting monthly benefit as Option D. Its premium is guaranteed not to increase, and it includes a $288,000 death benefit for heirs if care is not needed. Below are alternative annual payment options. For reference, "5-Pay" means five annual payments.

Compare these benefits with projected care costs and the personal savings or other income you would want to use toward care.
You can also adjust the benefit amount to fit your budget. For example, reducing the premium by 25% would generally reduce the benefits proportionally.
👉🏻 Next steps
Reply to my email or text with feedback or schedule time on my calendar to review these options together.
Alternatively, complete this longer health pre-screen form (10 minutes) for more clarity on your options. I’ll share your answers with insurers without your name attached to get informal feedback. This helps identify which policy is the best fit and avoids the risk of a formal decline.
Thanks,
Jesse
