On this post

Each month, we share news about Long Term What?, long-term care, and insurance. If you find this helpful, please share it with others. See past news here.

🗒️ WA Cares

WA Cares is Washington’s innovative new long-term care program—workers pay a small payroll tax in exchange for up to $36,500 (in today’s dollars) to help cover care costs later in life. New updates were just passed to strengthen the program ahead of its 2026 launch. Although the financial benefits are modest, one additional upside has been increased awareness. At Long Term What?, we’ve seen a disproportionate number of inquiries from Washington residents exploring their options.

📺 YouTube Channel

This month, we released the first video of our new YouTube playlist, Insurance. Over the new few months, we'll cover how LTC insurance works, why get it, and much more.

❤️ Our Why

Long-term care (LTC) and caregiving are overlooked in the U.S., despite 70% of adults needing LTC. The topic gets little attention due to reluctance around aging and care planning. Our mission is to inspire action with practical, engaging guidance—empowering caregivers and care recipients to navigate LTC together.

When LTC insurance is part of the picture, we’ll help you navigate the options and find the policy that’s right for you.
