I've provided a few quotes from Mutual of Omaha MutualCare as you requested. See my notes below the table.

Should you shop around? You can—but your quotes will be the same everywhere. Long-term care insurance prices are set by the insurance companies, not by brokers. We offer all the top policies and help you find the best fit.

🧐 My notes

As you may already know, Mutual of Omaha offers two similar long-term care policies with slightly different options. I've included the two options the lowest premium based on the selected options.

  • Option A includes the Waiver of Elimination Period for Home Health Care rider, which costs approximately $73/month. Home care benefits would begin immediately, while care in a facility would still be subject to a 90-day elimination period.
  • Option B includes a 0-day elimination period for home and facility care. It also provides an additional $5,000 of initial benefits, which is the minimum required for this policy design.
  • Return of Premium is not available for applicants who are age 65 or older.
  • Both illustrations assume the Select rate class, which is the most common underwriting outcome. If underwriting approves the Preferred rate class, premiums would be somewhat lower.

Based on these options, I think your decision is if you want a 0-day elimination period for home care only (option A) or for all covered care settings (option B).

👉🏻 Next steps

Schedule time on my calendar to review these options together.

If you don't need a call, complete this longer health pre-screen form (15 minutes). I’ll share your answers with Mutual of Omaha without your name attached to get informal feedback. This helps identify your potential rate class, avoids the risk of a formal decline, and helps us isolate any issues prior to applying.

Thanks,
Jesse
