LTCi Quotes for Augie

Augie,

Below is a comparison of your currently approved Securian policy with Nationwide CareMatters and Lincoln Financial MoneyGuard.

In an apples-to-apples comparison of $6,000/month cash benefits, Securian offers the lowest premium.

💡
Cash benefits are more flexible than reimbursement. Once you qualify for benefits, the full monthly amount is paid to you and can be used for licensed or unlicensed caregivers, family care, or even non-care-related expenses. Learn more about cash vs reimbursement.

Option B, Nationwide, provides the same $6,000 monthly cash benefit as Securian, but at a higher premium.

Lincoln works a little differently. When you qualify for benefits, you make a one-time choice between reimbursement benefits or cash benefits equal to 80% of the reimbursement amount.

That distinction is important when comparing the options:

  • Option C provides $6,000/month in cash or $7,500/month of reimbursement, at a higher premium than Securian.
  • Option D provides $6,000/month in reimbursement or $4,800/month in cash, at a lower premium than Securian.

So, if you prefer cash benefits, I’d recommend your currently approved Securian policy. If you’re comfortable using reimbursement benefits instead of cash, Lincoln Option D may be worth considering.

If you’d prefer to pursue one of the Lincoln options, we would need to submit a new application and go through underwriting again. If so, just let me know.

I’m also happy to schedule a call if you’d like to talk through the options together.

Thanks,
Jesse
