Joanne,
Good news. Your revised long-term care (LTC) insurance quotes are ready.
š Revised quotes
Iāve included three quotes that cost $9,000 per year for 3 years of benefits. Premiums are paid annually for life but stop once you need care. You can choose to lower your premiums (e.g., to $6,000/year) and your benefits will drop proportionally. Each option grows 3% yearly to keep pace with rising LTC costs.
š§ My notes
Of the quotes I pulled, NGL EssentialLTC gives you the strongest benefits. I aimed to get you close to the projected $188,000 a year for assisted living in Massachusetts, which is one of the priciest states for care. If it ever made sense, moving to a lower-cost state could stretch your benefits further.
At your age, insurers only offer either lifetime payments or a 10-year pay option. You can just divide the annual premium by 12 to see what it would roughly look like monthly.
Each policy works on a reimbursement basisāyou or your provider send in receipts, and youāre paid back for covered costs. FYI, premiums could go up for any of these policies in the future, but thatās highly unlikely. You can read our reviews of all three policies here.
šš» Next steps
Once you've reviewed your options, just reply to my email with the one that feels closestāA, B, or C and I'll email the policy documents to you (no commitment).
