Revised LTCi Quotes for Kim B

On this page

Kim,

Good news. Your revised long-term care (LTC) insurance quotes are ready.

🔁 Revised quotes

I’ve provided three quotes similar to your original Plus option—paying $10k per year for 10 years, with 5 years of benefits and a refund. Each includes 3% annual growth to help your benefits keep pace with rising long-term care costs.

💡
Should you shop around? You can—but your quotes will be the same everywhere. Long-term care insurance prices are set by the insurance companies, not by brokers. We offer all the top policies and help you find the best fit. Want to adjust your coverage? We can raise or lower the premium—your benefits will scale accordingly.

🧐 My notes

All three options are strong, with only minor differences. We can go over the details by phone if you’d like.

Option A – Nationwide CareMatters
Provides the highest minimum refund to your heirs even if you need care ($20k vs. $10k for Securian and $6k for Lincoln). Benefits start after 90 days, but you’re reimbursed for those first 90 days on day 91. Read our review.

Option B – Securian SecureCare
A simple, straightforward choice. Read our review.

Option C – Lincoln MoneyGuard
Nationwide and Securian pay benefits as cash indemnity—the most flexible option. Lincoln pays as reimbursement, with an option to receive cash indemnity at 80% of your benefit amount. You receive benefits on day 1 instead of waiting 90 days. Read our review.

If you never need care, every policy guarantees your spouse, children, or heirs will receive a refund that’s more than the total premiums you paid.

In Oklahoma, assisted living is projected to cost about $127,000 per year by age 80 (assuming 4% annual growth). All three options pay slightly less, but you can make up the difference with personal savings and Social Security. If you’d like higher annual benefits, you can increase your premium—benefits rise proportionally (e.g., a 25% premium increase yields 25% more benefits).

Personally, I think all three are solid choices, but I’d lean toward Option C for its higher benefits.
