Stacey,
Good news. Your revised long-term care (LTC) insurance quotes are ready.
š Revised quotes
I've provided three quotes with the same costs. Your choice of Plus from your first-look quotes is option A.
LTC costs in Virginia
Assisted-living in Virginia is projected to cost $297,000/year by age 80 (assuming 4% annual growth). But your policy doesn't have to cover everything. Assisted-living already includes housing and meals, and any steady income, like Social Security, can bridge the gap that your policy doesn't cover.
š§ My notes
All three of these popular policies are strong options. Each pays benefits as cash indemnityāmeaning youāll receive a full check each month, no receipts required. They also offer a refund of about $100,000 if care is never neededāmore than the $70,000 youād pay in premiums.
- Option A: Nationwide CareMatters offers slightly higher annual benefits. Read the review.
- Option B: Securian SecureCare provides higher total benefits because it includes 4 years of coverage (3 isnāt available). Read the review.
- Option C: Brighthouse SmartCare is very similar to Securian in both structure and value. Again, no 3 year option. Read the review.
I also priced Nationwide at 4 years, but it didnāt compare as well to Securian or Brighthouse.
Between them, Iād lean toward Securian (B) or Brighthouse (C). Each has small differences Iād be happy to walk through if you'd like to chat.
šš» Next steps
Once you've reviewed your options, just reply to my email with the one that feels closestāA, B, or C and I'll email the policy documents to you (no commitment).
