LTCi Quotes for Thomas and Elizabeth F

On this page

Thomas and Elizabeth,

Good news. Your long-term care (LTC) insurance quotes are ready.

Why people choose LTC insurance:

  • Your family may not be able to become caregivers
  • Stay in control — at home or your preferred facility
  • Your savings deserve protection from care costs

How LTC insurance works

It's a little different from your home or auto insurance.

  • Pick your price for how much coverage you want.
  • Coverage stays in place forever, even after you’re paid up.
  • When you need benefits, coverage has monthly and total maximums.
  • Benefits grow to keep up with future care costs.

First-look quotes

To start, I’ve provided quotes from three different policies with increasing costs.

Graph of benefits

This graph shows how your projected benefits and LTC costs in Illinois if you needed care at age 80, but benefits can start at any time. Click any policy name or line for more detail.

LTC costs in Illinois
Assisted-living in Illinois is projected to cost $218,000/year by age 80 (assuming 4% annual growth). But your policy doesn't have to cover everything. Assisted-living already includes housing and meals, and any steady income, like Social Security, can bridge the gap that your policy doesn't cover.

My notes

Based on your “Yes” to memory-care coverage and “Yes” to a refund, I’ve shown two options that hit both goals—Plus and Cadillac—plus a third for comparison.

  • Base: No-frills, no-refund. Every dollar goes toward benefits—but with 5-year coverage, the Plus option (the next option) looks like a better choice. Depending on your age, health, and policy design, Base isn't always the lowest-cost choice.
  • Plus: Adds the refund for your heirs if you never need care. Your annual benefits are the highest of the three options.
  • Cadillac: Keeps the refund and extends your benefits. Your yearly check is a little smaller than Base or Plus, but lasts for your lifetime if Alzheimer’s care lasts 8+ years.

👉🏻 Next steps

Just reply to my email with the label that feels closest: Base, Plus, or Cadillac. You can also add any comments if you’d like. I’ll then fine-tune your quotes to match your budget with more specific details and options.
