Jordyn and Kristen,
I'm pleased to offer three customized long-term care insurance (LTCi) quotes that provide meaningful coverage.
Comparison table
✨ All policies include:
- Flexible care: at home or in a facility
- Premium and benefit options that we can adjust
- Benefits that start whenever you qualify for LTC
View local care costs here.
Graph of benefits
This graph shows how your benefits would compare to expected LTC costs if you needed care at age 80. Click any policy name or line for more detail.
My notes
In the above graph, both Thrivent policies have the same benefits, so the yellow line/area is hidden.
I chose these policies based on your preferences:
Memory care: Yes
With Alzheimer’s, care often lasts 8+ years—much longer than average. That’s why I chose policies with 8 years of coverage.
Refund: Unsure
The Thrivent Careforward policy offers a refund (a life insurance payout) if you don’t end up needing long-term care—so your heirs get it as an inheritance. It’s a nice perk—unlike auto or home insurance, you can get some money back if you don’t use it. But as you can tell, it comes with a cost.
Smaller payments over time: Unsure
Smaller annual payments are easier on the budget but cost more in the long run. For the sake of comparison, I used 'lifetime payments' (e.g., until you need LTC) for all of your quotes, but we can shorten the length of payments in the Thrivent policies to increase your benefits.
Mutual of Omaha
This policy isn't available to you until you're 30, but I provided this quote to compare to Thrivent quotes. The Thrivent Standalone policy looks better.
Comparing to LTC costs
The graph shows your benefits are below projected LTC costs—but you don’t have to cover everything. In assisted living, housing and meals are often included, and other income or assets can help. For other ways to better fund LTC (I'm brainstorming as I write 😀), we could try 5% benefit growth (inflation protection) instead of 3%. Let me know if you'd like to see this.
Big picture
If I were you, I'd consider the Thrivent Standalone option, as it's a lot less expensive. We could shorten the premium payment period to 10 years (from lifetime) to compare. I'd encourage you to read our review on the Thrivent policies to learn about it's Christian focus.

Update on May 21, 2025
Jordyn and Kristen,
Based on your feedback, the best policy choice for ~ $200/month (combined) that provides meaningful coverage is below.
My thoughts
This policy gives you a lot of long-term care coverage, growing at 5% compound each year. While we can't predict care costs 50+ years from now, you can model projections for Ohio and other states. For context, assisted living costs have risen about 4.5% annually over the past two decades.
You'll see Kristen’s premiums are higher—female rates tend to be more expensive since women live longer on average.
I’ve attached the full policy document below. It can be a lot to digest, so I’m happy to hop on a call and walk you through it.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Jesse
